In all stages of education, music education is an indispensable part of students' development. The purpose of Shanghai Nome School Music Master Class is to establish a student-centered, project-oriented learning system to help students improve their artistic attainments through creating, researching or performing music.
For students who want to study music-related majors in the future, we have established a bridge between K-12, university curriculum systems and future professional fields. For students who want to pursue non-music-related majors, we provide a full range of customized music courses to meet students' individual needs and artistic pursuits.
At Shanghai Nome School, while providing academic performance courses, we use customized courses to meet the diverse needs and goals of students. In order to help students better prepare for college study, we strive to provide "personalized teaching content" based on each student's interests and development plans to help them achieve their professional goals.
The "personalized teaching content" of Nomei Music Master Class includes:
• Tailor-made, personalized and diversified music courses to meet the learning needs of each student
• Academic courses covering all aspects of music history, theory, research, technology and performance
• Performance by Nome School Chorus and Instrumental Ensemble (any instrument of your choice)
• Served as a student conductor at the Nome School Concert
• Attend international and domestic academic conferences, or publish papers in peer-reviewed academic journals
• Gain practical work experience through opportunities such as teaching assistantships or internships
• Assist in writing and producing resumes, university application documents and materials
Course Settings
▍Personalized leveled music courses
The core of international education focuses on the cultivation of students' transferable skills. These skills can help students succeed in future university studies or professional fields. Shanghai Nome School uses a hierarchical education method based on research and supported by data to standardize the curriculum system and teaching methods.
High school preparatory courses help students adapt to high school studies, while high school courses adopt a hierarchical teaching method.

▍Music Practice Project
Shanghai Nome School offers two music certificate programs. While completing high school studies, students who over-complete their music courses can receive a music certificate as a supplement to their high school diploma to increase the possibility of being admitted to internationally renowned institutions.
▍Stage performances and professional competitions
Shanghai Nome School has a diversified music performance program, including instrumental ensembles and choirs.
• Repertoire includes classical music, pop music and traditional music
• Opportunities to perform on stages inside and outside the school, including extracurricular activities, concerts and professional competitions, etc.
• Students can play traditional Chinese instruments, such as erhu or guzheng, to learn and experience the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures
• Students can choose the piece they wish to play
• Students do not need to have any experience in playing or learning instruments. Any student can participate in ensembles and choirs.
• Students can play electronic instruments such as bass guitar or keyboard guitar
*Shanghai Nome School holds 4 concerts in autumn and 2 in spring each year, a total of six concerts; *All music days are tailored according to the individual needs of the students in Shanghai Nome School Concerts
▍Music Computing Research Laboratory
The Music Computing Research Laboratory is designed to help students study different areas of music. Music Studies allows students to use innovative methods to dissect various aspects of music as their own subject of study. In the Nome Music Computing Research Laboratory, students can conduct research that is artistic, musical, original, and culturally traditional. Students may also focus on content-specific studies in music history, theory, or performance practice. Even study in interdisciplinary areas such as music and mathematics, music and psychology, music and literature, and music and education. The purpose of music research is to write original material that can be referenced and applied. Students participating in research may present their research results at national and international academic conferences; they may also publish papers in proceedings and peer-reviewed journals.

▍Music Practice Project
Shanghai Nome School is committed to integrating music academic research and music performance learning into practical work environments. A well-rounded music education allows students to test their skills and abilities outside of the classroom. These opportunities include:
• Conducts the Nome Instrument Ensemble and Chorus
• Leadership positions in music societies and popular bands
